This was fresh and exciting. Reading a book written from the perspective of a child was a remarkable experience - and a child from the past - it transported me to the 19th century. Wow - this is the book that makes you say, "I NEVER SAW that coming!"

John Rogers

More than just a mystery.  This is a Victorian Shutter Island without the inmates. This book is a commentary on the danger of closed minds and that the most scary individuals are in our own heads! We can all learn from the voice of the narrator, Anne. She is wise beyond her eleven years.

When you convince yourself you are always right, it blinds you to what right really means. Maybe only children can teach this.
